How to use the search function in a facebook group!

Hi there fellow members of the facebook group "The Reggio Emilia Approach",

This is a bit of a different post... as its just to let you know about the search function available in facebook groups...
I think it would be really useful for member new and old to use this function... there is years of information and dialogues available in the group... and especially if you are new, why not take advantage of this wealth of information... and put your search words in and see what happenes...

the search box can be found on the left... as you can see on my screenshot below... it is the bottom left box with the magnifying glass in it.

So maybe you are looking for inspiration about risky play, or the competent child, or loose parts...
put these words in the box and press the icon. And it takes you to a page with all the  posts about this topic you are searching for - as you can see below

You can also be a bit more selective if you are wanting to be a bit more specific... then use the filters below... it includes year as well... otherwise you can really delve into the past if you to choose to search all the years the group has been in action...

If you have searched the group and have not found what you are looking for, then think about what is the question you need to ask to find out that answer? This could be the start of a great thread for everyone in the group.

This suggestion came about due to a dialogue about me in the future deleting certain posts - the ones I was referring to in particular in the group is "gift ideas for mother's day or father's day" and similar posts...

This question gets asked multiple times a year due to the fact we are an international group and celebrate these days on different days of the year... and also the same dialogue about whether or not making children create gifts for a parent 8that they might not have, or have a good relationship with) has also occurred many many times...
So this would be an excellent question to put in the search "mothers day gift" - it will of course link comments and posts referring to those three words... so not all posts are going to be relevant, but many of them will be.

anyway I hope this was a useful post to help you navigate the group and dig up some hidden treasures. And allow the group to focus on dialogue and the exploration of ideas...

Please avoid sharing photos, memes etc without taking the time to think about how to start a dialogue... there are plenty of other groups that are out there to find educationally motivational memes and phrases, and inspirational photos... this group The Reggio Emilia Approach - is about taking it one step further and reflecting on the work we do with children, the why, the how, the ifs etc etc... and to support and respectfully challenge each other.

and also remember there is no need to ask about gift ideas for mothers day, fathers day, Christmas etc etc etc etc etc etc ... no matter the religion of culture... check out the group and you will find suggestions...
in the group the following was written
Sara Daily Orphanides I have the pleasure of being in Reggio Emilia at a study tour at this very moment. This topic was addressed this morning. With a reminder about Malaguzzi’s invitation to “leap over the wall.. of the obvious, the banal, and the irremovable...to break conformity.”

This morning’s amazing speaker, Paola Strozzi, elaborated that we who are inspired by this approach are called to:

break the conformity and banality of the environment...

and the poverty and conformity of the educational experiences...

and the banal and conforming timing of educational experiences, such as planning programming around holidays like Mother’s Day.

I hope my notes and Paola’s reflections are helpful to all of us as we examine our own teaching practices.

use these words wisely... challenge yourself to rethink what we usually do...
thank you.
