Creating art with pipettes is popular with the children... I see that some are really aware of the pattern they are creating, while others are just exploring the process and the science...
This week I have been using just normal paper hand towels- not so beautiful to look at... and since they were getting VERY water/colour logged and there were many wanting to create with the pipettes I decided to place the paper towels on larger glossy piece of paper... rather hoping that it would make a print. (we were using the centre of felt tip pens that no longer worked that have been soaking in water for some time (at least 24 hours)).
The next day I went to see what had happened... and I really like the results... and the children began to see things in the prints... trees, saucepans cooking food, ice and water...
We have also done a session with blue and red... that have turned out beautifully too... the blue has been a much more powerful colour as there were lots of old blue pens...
